Single-Delegation General Assembly (GA)
Topic A: Safeguarding Rights and Preserving Cultures of Indigenous Youth
Indigenous cultures and communities around the world face increasing threats from displacement, discrimination, environmental degradation, and loss of language and traditions. Many indigenous children lack access to quality education, healthcare, and legal protections, while their communities are often excluded from decision-making processes that affect their lives. In this debate, participants will explore how UNICEF and the international community can better support indigenous youth and preserve their cultural heritage. Topics may include education in native languages, land rights, and safeguarding traditional knowledge.
Topic B: Protecting Children in Conflict Zones
From Gaza to Ukraine, armed conflicts continue to endanger millions of children, stripping them of their basic rights to education, healthcare, and legal protection. In regions like Israel-Palestine, Syria, Sudan, and Ukraine, schools and hospitals have been destroyed, children displaced, and families torn apart. Many young people are left without access to essential services and are increasingly vulnerable to trauma, exploitation, and recruitment by armed groups. In this debate, participants will explore how UNICEF and the global community can respond more effectively to protect children in conflict zones. Discussions will focus on emergency education, mobile health solutions, legal accountability, and building long-term systems of support in the face of ongoing violence.
