Topic A: Climate Change and the Fight Against Food Insecurity

Food insecurity is worsening worldwide, driven by a combination of conflict, economic instability, and the growing impacts of climate change. Changing weather patterns—such as droughts, floods, and unpredictable seasons—are making it increasingly difficult for farmers to grow crops and raise livestock. Small-scale farmers, particularly in vulnerable regions, are hardest hit, often lacking the resources to adapt to these changes. As agricultural productivity declines, food prices rise, limiting access to nutritious food, especially for low-income communities. In this debate, participants will explore how the international community can address food insecurity through both immediate humanitarian aid and long-term solutions, including building climate-resilient agricultural systems and ensuring equitable access to food for all.

Topic B: Green Industrialization in the East

Countries like India, Malaysia, and Vietnam are experiencing rapid industrialization, leading to significant economic growth. However, this growth is accompanied by a sharp increase in CO₂ emissions, which threatens to derail global climate goals. Many of these nations are struggling to balance the need for economic development with the urgent demand for more sustainable, environmentally friendly practices. In this debate, participants will explore how these countries can continue to grow economically while transitioning to greener practices. Topics may include renewable energy adoption, sustainable industrial practices, and the role of international support in achieving climate goals.
